WebSep 10, 2024 · When it first opened in 1907, Brooklands was one of the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuits and remained the only such venue in Britain until 1933. And thanks to an infamous banked oval track, Brooklands was a speed merchant’s dream. WebThe longest was Pescara Circuit (25 km) which normally held the Coppa Acerbo race. It hosted one World Championship race, the 1957 Pescara Grand Prix. One of the most famous is the old Nürburgring (22 km) which hosted the German Grand Prix from 1951 to 1976 . Several different forms of race tracks have been used in the history of Formula One.
