That eliminates recording activity while your arms are up (pushing a stroller, grocery cart, mower, etc). It's my understanding that the sensors are supposed to be equal to or more sensitive than those of the fitbit but it doesn't seem to be the case. Webyes, the charge hr wont count steps when I'm pushing s shopping cart unless i push with one hand and keep the fitbit wearing arm free to dangle. it's really annoying especially when my cart get heavy at costco. never thought of putting it on my belt loop; will have to try that.
